Our aim is to provide quality care in a comfortable and stimulating environment. All cats receive individual attention and cuddles as required at various times throughout the day. We pride ourselves on quality cat care and our overall mission is to look after your cat as we would wish our own cats to be looked after in a boarding cattery and we do this first of all by listening to our owners and following their instructions and advice when tending to each cat on an individual basis.
Full details will be taken on your cat’s food preferences and general eating habits when registering with us for the first time. On subsequent visits, you only need to advise us if there has been any change since the last visit and we will always check with you on subsequent visits that we have the correct information on your cat’s dietary or other needs. Prices reflect a cat requiring two meals per day of wet food plus a supply of dry food (if required). If additional wet food is required, this may either be provided by the owner for the duration of the stay, or alternatively there will be a supplement at actual cost of the food.
We provide water fountains that are changed daily or more frequently if required.
We will supply most brands of wet and dry cat food to meet individual requirements; however, we are unable to supply diets prescribed and supplied by your vet and in this respect we would ask that you please bring an adequate supply for your cat’s/cats’ stay. Please discuss with us when booking if you have any specific food requirements as there may be some foods we are unable to supply; however, we are happy to supply an agreed alternative in these cases, or you are most welcome to bring your own supply. We are able to dispense treats if these are allowed as and when required and you are welcome to bring any other treats or special food.
Cats are fed a minimum of twice daily (or more if required according to your instructions). Feeding times are normally around 7.30 to 8.00 am and between 4.00 and 5.30 pm. All cats are checked later in the evening/at bed-time to ensure that they are warm, well, safe and comfortable with heating adjusted as necessary for comfort and warmth. We can also provide under bed heat-pads if required, particularly for our elderly clients, so please ask if this is a requirement for your cat.
We can groom cats if this is something that your cat enjoys, so please let us know as not all cats appreciate being groomed! In this case, you are welcome to bring your own comb or brush.
To help keep the cattery a flea free zone and to prevent spread of fleas, we would be grateful if all owners could treat their cat for fleas prior to boarding. Most spot-on treatments are recommended to be applied every 4-5 weeks although some last 3 months.
Whichever method you use, we will ask for information at the start of your cat’s stay with us. If your cat has not been treated and we find fleas, then we will need to apply a suitable treatment to prevent spread of fleas in the cattery (usually Frontline).
The cost of the flea treatment will be added to the boarding costs together with an additional charge of £10.00 to cover the flea spray product (Indorex) and extra cleaning that will be required to treat the pen and immediate surrounding area.
We thank you for your understanding and co-operation in this matter.
We also recommend seeking advice from your vet on suitable flea products – for example Frontline, Sronghold, Advocate or Advantage. In our experience, we have found that some supermarket ‘off-the-shelf’ products are not effective.
All cats must be up to date with their vaccinations for Cat Flu (feline herpesvirus and feline calicivirus) and feline enteritis (feline panleukopenia virus). The certificate provided by your vet must be produced on first booking and annual on renewal of vaccinations each year so that we can update our records. We do not accept non-vaccinated cats.
We will take full details from you upon registration which will include details of any illnesses or other conditions/ailments and any medication you require to administer. We would ask that in respect of medication full written instructions are provided.
UNFORTUNATELY, WE ARE SORRY WE NO LONGER ACCEPT DIABETIC CATS.
Should the unforeseen happen and your cat fall ill for any reason during his/her stay we will contact your own veterinary surgeon immediately. We will take details from you in this regard, along with emergency contact information on registration of your cat with us. Your emergency contact and/or yourself will be notified if for any reason we are required to take your cat to see a veterinary surgeon.
